Are you concerned about your child’s language and/or literacy development?
The Specialist Teachers from the Dyslexia Outreach team will be talking about literacy and numeracy difficulties, as well as difficulties with memory and processing and how to support these. The Specialist Teachers from the ECLIPS team will discuss Developmental Language Disorder and using Makaton.

Interactive Workshop about the role of Liaise, their remit and also a guide to SEND Support (Graduated approach).
This workshop aims to develop your knowledge of the way in which mainstream schools can support children and young people with SEND through SEN Support.
The session will introduce you to the law and the SEND code of practice, talk about the SEND funding schools receive and highlight the importance of early identification of SEND.

Beat it!: using everyday music activities to support communication
Did you know that almost any style of music can be used to support skills for speech and language?
In this session, you will learn why music is such a powerful way to support communication and speech skills in children and young people?.
I will explain how and why you can use your child’s favourite music and simple music games to support different communication skills.
Along the way, we will discuss some of the other benefits of music – such as how music can support wellbeing and happiness. You do not need any special skills or equipment to take part, or to use these ideas with your child.

Join us for an interactive session about visits to the dentist, getting teeth brushed and healthy food choices for teeth.

We don’t have a magic wand, but we will try and answer some of your questions and worries.
We will show you some useful oral health resources especially designed for those with additional needs.

Lincolnshire Young Voices (LYV) -the voice of Young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in Lincolnshire
Emma will be speaking about the work of LYV and the importance of giving young people with SEND a voice.
Emma will also speak about the work they are currently involved in and the difference they are making.
If you have a young person with SEND and they love to share their views, please come to the session to find out more about volunteering opportunities.

Connecting the dots – a shared vision to best prepare young people with SEND for key transition points

Scott Eley, SEND Employment Lead & project Choice will present to young people and parents about what longer term preparation can take place in readying them for life after education. This will include discussion around vocational profiling, work experience and showcasing real life Lincolnshire case studies of young people enjoying success in the world of employment.

Post 16 next steps
Rebecca will be hosting a session on preparation for adulthood.

If you are interested in Health Services for Children and young people this is the session you need to be at.

The session will consist of:
  • The Designated Clinical Officer for SEND will be talking about his role within Health and the Sensory Processing Disorder project.

  • The Team coordinator for the CYP Keyworker service and the Trust lead for transforming care will talk about the Key worker role and the Dynamic support register.

  • The Children’s Strategic Commissioning Manager will give a brief overview of developments around Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism.

  • The Children & Young People Programme Manager will talk about her role for Children and young people with Asthma, Epilepsy and Diabetes and transition.

  • The Roald Dahl Transition Nurse Specialist: Complex Healthcare Needs & Disabilities and will be discussing What Transition is and the document that is now being used within United Lincolnshire Hospitals.

  • The Head of Mental Health services will be talking about Children and young peoples Mental Health Services, including Mental Health Support Teams.

  • The team leader for St Francis School Nursing Team, Children’s Autism Specialist Nurse, Learning Disabilities Nurses and Neurodevelopmental Nurses will give a brief overview of the team.

    Promoting positive behaviour - booking needed
    Interactive workshop on Zoom with a Behavioural Specialist.
    These workshops have been requested by parents & professionals and are free to those on the LPCF membership.

    Certain types of behaviour can be not only highly stressful for the family,
    but also take up so much time and resources that they can have a large impact on the family and child engaging in everyday activities.

    This session will look at:
    • What are behaviours of concern.
    • The types of behaviours that may be displayed (such as verbal and physical aggression, breaking objects, escape and avoidance and self-neglect).
    • What happens physically to a child when displaying these behaviours.
    • How to establish what the behaviour may be telling us.
    • Why they may happen.
    • How to put a plan into place, as well as some strategies that may help reduce such behaviours and promote positive ones.
