    Interactive Workshop about SEND Support (Graduated approach).
    This workshop aims to develop your knowledge of the way in which mainstream schools can support children and young people with SEND through SEN Support.

    The Specialist Teachers from the Dyslexia Outreach team will be talking about literacy difficulties, and how to support these. The Specialist Teachers from the ECLIPS team will discuss Developmental Language Disorder and using Makaton. These sessions are for both parents and professionals.

    How to promote healthy bowels and bladders
    Two members of the Helpline Team from ERIC, The Children’s Bowel & Bladder charity will talk about how to promote healthy bowels and bladders. They will share information about how we wee and poo, do some myth-busting about wee and poo problems, give practical tips on how to support children with sensory needs to use the loo, and tell you what you can do when things aren’t going to plan.

    It will also explain what happens during the assessment process and how an EHC plan is maintained once it is in place.

    "How to help your childs learning in school" is the topic that Anna will be discussing and how the Kyra Mobilise project has supported that.

    The KYRA Mobilise project has been running successfully for six years in Lincolnshire, supporting schools to use evidence about what works in classrooms and schools, to lead school improvement and transformation.
    Projects have included: Emotional Health and Wellbeing, Mental Health and Behaviour, Curriculum Design, Metacognition and Self-Regulated Learning and Early Years/Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Literacy.
    Working in partnership with parents and carers, coupled with a genuine commitment to engaging learner voice is a thread that runs through the recommendations within each project.

    Lincolnshire Young Voices (LYV) -the voice of Young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in Lincolnshire.
    Jo and Emma will be speaking about the work of LYV and the importance of giving young people with SEND a voice.
    They will also speak about the work they are currently involved in and the difference they are making.
    If you have a young person with SEND and they love to share their views, please come to the session to find out more about volunteering opportunities.

    Avoiding the cliff edge - supporting young people with SEND and their families to prepare for employment and volunteering

    Scott Eley, SEND Employment Lead will present to young people and parents about what longer term preparation can take place in readying them for life after education. This will include discussion around vocational profiling, work experience and showcasing real life Lincolnshire case studies of young people enjoying success in the world of employment.

    Promoting positive behaviour
    Interactive workshop on Zoom with a Behavioural Specialist.
    These workshops have been requested by parents & professionals and are free to those on the LPCF membership.

    Certain types of behaviour can be not only highly stressful for the family,
    but also take up so much time and resources that they can have a large impact on the family and child engaging in everyday activities.

    This session will look at:
    • What are behaviours of concern.
    • The types of behaviours that may be displayed (such as verbal and physical aggression, breaking objects, escape and avoidance and self-neglect).
    • What happens physically to a child when displaying these behaviours.
    • How to establish what the behaviour may be telling us.
    • Why they may happen.
    • How to put a plan into place, as well as some strategies that may help reduce such behaviours and promote positive ones.

    Please note you do have to book your place as places are limited.
