Nominee Name - Donna Wallhead
Nominee Service - Parent/grandparent

Nomination Details
I would like to nominate Donna for going above and beyond for her family and for supporting LPCF.
Donna has her hands full with her children and grand children but dedicates her time to attending almost all of the workshops/events/sessions we hold.

During the "Week of SEND" she attended almost all sessions during the week and always endeavours to provide LPCF with valuable evaluations about what she learnt during the sessions.

She is also keen to participate in the chat and asks questions to further her knowledge making the most of every session she attends.

She is actively building her skills up in parenting children with SEND and we would like to recognise her commitment in doing this for her family.

We think that her husband often listens in to the sessions too but likes to stay behind the camera so thank you to him too for his support.

It is people like Donna that inspire LPCF Trustees and volunteers to keep volunteering so a big thank you from all of us.

Holly Rodgers has been a massive support to my son especially over the last two years.

She has gone over and above to provide one to one support, emotional support and practical support when he's been experiencing a parent having cancer treatment.

Without her ongoing support, my son would not be managing as well as he is.

We are grateful that we have such a brilliant support in our sons school.

Nominee Name - Mrs Cash
Nominee Service - Skegness Academy

Nomination Details
My son is autistic and has Tourettes syndrome.
He has attended Skegness academy with Mrs Cash as his English teacher since September 2020.

She has gone above and beyond to help him grow as a young adult, to make him feel comfortable and to help him embrace his disabilities and not let them hold him back.

I am sure she is just as dedicated to all of her pupils, but as a parent sending her child with all these challenges to school, to find a teacher that not only understands your child's needs, but one that also fights for your child as if he were her own, is amazingly heart warming.

I don't think there will ever be another Mrs cash, I can only hope that when my son moves on next year that he can find teachers who are at least half as good as this one.

Nominee Name - Jack Saville
Nominee Service - Teacher St Lawrence School Horncastle

Nomination Details
Jack has been my young man's class teacher for the last two school years. Under his care and tuition he has flourished, he has made some academic progress but more importantly his confidence and self esteem have increased beyond all expectation.

I have had the privilege of sitting in on a lesson and was in awe of how each and every student in the class was afforded equal encouragement and support.

The diverse range of ability and need in the classroom would have been overwhelming for most but Jack was level, calm as well as enthusiastic.

All the students left for their lunch bright, cheerful and feeling good about the lesson and themselves. I cannot state strongly enough the skill required but also the passion for helping our young people.
Nominated Date - 04-06-2024
Nominee Name - Tower Road Academy
Nominee Service - School

Nomination Details
I would like to nominate Tower Road Academy for their incredible support and commitment to meeting our child’s complex medical and SEN needs. They have truly gone above and beyond to make sure his primary school experience has been both happy and successful. The support they’ve provided has been nothing short of amazing!

I would like to include a very special mention to the staff who have made such a big difference over the past five years: Miss Lammond, Mrs Siswick, Miss Lote, Mrs Bates, Mrs Adams, Miss Dodd, Miss Pycock, Mr Reed, and Mrs Parkin. Their dedication, patience, and understanding have been invaluable to us as parents of a child with complex needs.
I know there are many more staff members who deserve recognition too, from the Breakfast and After School Club staff to the office team and the additional TAs who have all had a positive impact on our child’s time at Tower Road Academy.

I am extremely grateful for the manner in which situations (and sometimes tough ones) have been managed, the attention to detail, great communication, the school/home working together approach, inclusivity, and the extra-curricular opportunities they’ve offered our child in order to recognise his strengths.

The consistently friendly and welcoming attitude we have always encountered has been greatly appreciated.

Thank you all so much—more than any end-of-year gift could ever show!

Nominee Name - Sharon Beaumont
Nominee Service - Lincolnshire Diabetes Team For Peads

Nomination Details
My teen son has type 1 diabetes diagnosis 2 years ago.

Recently we have been struggling to keep his levels stable and having lots of highs, he is also struggling with low mood and anxiety and is reluctant to go out. He is happy to attend hospital clinic appointments and they spoke to him and he actually explained how he felt and as a result found he had been inputting data in the insulin pump wrong.

The team clearly explained the issue and his blood glucose was much better.
We can always check in with the team if concerned and they come back with support very fast.

Even bringing replacements for diabetes kit when I had c-section and could not drive

Nominated Date - 07-06-2024
Nominee Name - Heather Moody
Nominee Service - Teaching Assistant

Nomination Details
Miss Moody has been doing an amazing job supporting my daughter.
Through all the daily struggles she encounters socially and emotionally.

When she is unsure of anything only Miss Moody will do!!
From reassuring her or even waiting for when she arrives at school if she's been having a bad morning, helping arranging adjustments for her so she can assess her learning. She's caring, listens to all my daughters worries and listens to her talk about football which is a lot!!

Miss Moody also supports me as a parent, she keeps me informed via email of anything (no matter how small) which has happened during the day and how it was resolved. She always replies to any queries I have.
I feel like we work as a team in supporting my daughter.

Even while Miss Moody was off work she always said to contact her with anything and she will try to help as best she can.

She has really made a difference to my daughters life and I'm sure she will need her support more than ever next year as she faces GCSE's

Nominee Name - All Staff At Working Together Team
Nominee Service - Working Together Team

Nomination Details
I have used the Working Together Team by attending many of their online events that offer support to parents (and school staff) in understanding how best to support the needs of children and young people with autism.

Their events are well thought out, they cover many topics (emotional development, sensory processing, transitions, masking) the content is clear, helpful and contains up to date information and sources keeping their work relevant and meaningful.

What impresses me the most though is their staff (Adele, Anthony, Helen, Louise etc) who are so clearly passionate about what they do and in making sure that our children and young people are understood, helped to feel happy, safe and achieve success.

They are inspiring as advocates and I have 100% certainty that the work they do in schools, has the children's best interests at the forefront of their minds, they are non judgemental and very understanding that children do well when they can and that behind every behaviour, there is an unmet need.

Nominee Name - N/a
Nominee Service - LCC Children’s Specialist Continence Service

Nomination Details
Since starting with the service, I have felt extremely listened to and supported.

The team have never rushed me on a call, despite their huge caseload and have taken time to understand my son’s varying needs that contribute to his continence issues. Any resources that needed sending out have been almost immediate and so very useful.

After I accidentally missed an appointment on one occasion, they were compassionate and kind, and quickly sorted me with a new appointment soon after. They call back regularly to check in and always offer whatever they can, or take a step back when things change on our end too.

I can’t thank them enough for their ongoing support.

19 months on and my Son has the best support at nursery, he’s had the right assessments and has the right diagnosis.
All in time before he starts school September 2024.. All thanks to Alice.

I have ADHD so I have struggled immensely through this journey and Alice has always been in our corner, she’s always been behind me pushing me to keep going reminding me what a fantastic mum I am and how far we have came since he started nursery.

Sometimes I felt like every professional was against us, I didn’t think anybody really understand my points my views my opinions and my choices but Alice always has. Her dedication to my sons journey is something I will remember forever and I feel she needs recognition for all of this.

Hall of Fame Award Nominations for Jul-Dec

Winner
Icon Podium PositionNominated Date - 09-10-2024
Nominee Name - Marie Tiwari
Nominee Service - SENCo

Nomination Details
I apologise for any language mistakes, I am from Poland and still learning English.
I would like to nominate Mrs Marie Tiwari, a SENCo, who has changed my life, but most importantly, she has transformed my son’s life.

My Son is currently 6 years old. Already in kindergarten,
I noticed that something was happening with my son. He didn't want to play with other children, he didn't speak, he didn't make eye contact with me, and very often, he would have a few seconds of staring into space. He didn’t respond to anything, and I was worried that it might be epilepsy, given that I am a trained paramedic (hence these suspicions). I was full of fears, crying at night, because my lad was about to start school, and he couldn’t handle simple things, and additionally, my poor knowledge of English was a major barrier.

And that’s when, at St Thomas Primary in Boston, our angel appeared —Mrs. Marie Tiwari, a woman who gives her heart to my son every day, for which I am immensely grateful. For me, AUTISM was, and still is, something unknown.
Every child is different, every child faces different challenges, etc. I am learning about it every day, but really, the key person in the life of me and my son is Mrs Marie Tiwari.

Imagine a single mother with a 4-5 year-old child who doesn’t speak much and also doesn’t speak English well, suddenly facing the challenge of autism (initially, I was devastated because it was a very difficult situation for me). After gathering the most important information about my son, this woman immediately started taking action!

She told me about every step, and we spent a lot of time having detailed conversations about her suspicions regarding my son, the school's concerns, and mine as well. Everything was explained to me step by step.

When it seemed like everything was starting to fall into place and the next step was to go to the paediatrician, we suddenly hit a wall - our documents were rejected! The doctor saw no need to meet with my son, believing everything was fine without ever having seen him!

My world collapsed then. I knew perfectly well that my son needed HELP and that the doctor wouldn't help him. I didn’t have the strength to keep fighting. I cried at night because I felt like I had failed my only child. (As I mentioned, I’m a paramedic, and when I worked on an ambulance in Poland, I always fought until the end when I was saving lives. But in this situation, I cried like a little child because I couldn’t do anything! It was terrible.)

And just then, when I had no strength left to fight for my son, Marie Tiwari did absolutely everything to ensure that we got that meeting with the paediatrician.

And IT HAPPENED! Our story is long…
Every day she fights for my son. In Year 1, she was his teacher, and during that time, my son developed incredibly. She built a relationship with him that no one else could! Marie is the only teacher he trusts.

TODAY she is no longer his teacher, but my son cannot imagine starting his day without hugging her and checking if she’s still at school.
I can see how much work has been put into getting us to the place we are today. If it weren’t for her helping hand when I had no more strength to fight for my own child, things could have ended differently.

I know that my son has a long road ahead of him and will have to overcome many more obstacles (the waiting times for specialists are terrifying). But I also know that with the support Marie Tiwari gives us, we can overcome anything! I thank God every day that we have her, and I cannot imagine life without her.

THANK YOU, Marie Tiwari, for everything you do for us.
You are the most important person in our lives, giving us your heart.

Nominee Name - Laura Leighton
Nominee Service - OT

Nomination Details
Laura has been like an angel that I never thought would come.

In the nearly 18 years my son has been in this world I’ve never come across a professional who wants to help as much as Laura.

Laura has gone above and beyond to try and find professionals/ organisations that would be of significant benefit to not only my son but to us as a family. Having dealt with countless professionals through the years I can honestly say hand on heart I have never met one as amazing as Laura.

I cant express my gratitude enough in words so I’m hoping if Laura is lucky enough to win this award it will show her that parents who feel like they are drowning in despair and don’t feel heard or seen are truly truly blessed to have a professional come in and go above and beyond to help and support.

As we know it’s hard for young people to get much needed support once they head into their adult years but Laura never gave up and tried everything in her power she could to get us some much needed intervention.

I wish more professionals would go into their job with Laura’s compassion, determination, patience and understanding.

A true hero that doesn’t wear a cape but is an amazing advocate.

Nomination Details
Bearhugs have been amazing with our son who has a minority disability.

Right from the start when we were first looking for nursery settings for him they stood head and shoulders above the rest in terms of the support they offered our son.

We really cannot thank them enough for the support they have given us as a family. It really is home from home.
Nominated Date - 06-07-2024
Nominee Name - The Deep
Nominee Service - The Deep

Nomination Details
I would like to nominate The Deep in Hull. We really liked how SEN friendly it is.
We used our access card to get in and took advantage of the disabled access entrance which meant no long queues and plenty of space for my son to bounce around and not annoy anyone in the process.

We was greeted by a friendly lady at the desk. The lady explained everything to us she gave my son a sensory kit to borrow whilst we were visiting the aquarium (we had to hand it back at the end of our visit) it was such a great idea for my son. When some parts of the aquarium got a bit busy he would reach in to his sensory bag put on the ear defenders and wait patiently there was a big Queue for the aquarium lift again sensory bag was perfect he had a squishy toy he played with and a fact sheet which he read out loud to me whilst we waited for our turn in the lift all the staff was really friendly everyone said hello.

My Nan was given a free mobility scooter to ride around the deep as she is going through hip replacement treatment so that again was another good thing about the deep. My son loved all the animals and engaged in the talks especially the ones about sharks which is his favourite animal.

My son also enjoyed reading the facts on the walls, and engaging in all the activities. The sensory sand pit was a great addition with the lights and images he was completely fascinated by this and we spent a good 20 minutes playing in there.

The deep also offers a years access when you first visit which is great for my shark loving son we have since been another two times using this offer the deep is now one of my sons favourite places to visit we really do like that the deep is SEN friendly and understanding. I would highly recommend the deep to others. I don’t know what else I can say about the deep apart from how excellent it was.

The staff were considerate my son felt safe and happy he didn’t have a melt down which is a massive bonus. As parents it was stress free even though it was busy it was very manageable a great day out for all the family.

Nominee Name - J Farrell
Nominee Service - Sen/ Pastoral Support

Nomination Details
Mrs Farrell has been a consistent and trusted adult for our son who has additional needs, throughout his secondary school years. She has worked tirelessly to go above and beyond for all the students, but the relationship between herself and my youngster, has been exceptional.

She has extended her duties and not only provided SEN support, but has been a counsellor, mediator and advisor (to us all as a family) and an invaluable member of the school team at the Deeping's School.

My child has learned to feel safe, welcomed and can approach Mrs Farrell with any concerns or anxieties he has. Even now, with her switching year groups, she still allows my youngster to be welcomed for her support.
He is a now a thriving member of the school community, thanks to her commitment and dedication to duty.

Mrs Farrell, and the school, deserve recognition for positive experiences like this.

Nominated Date - 14-11-2024
Nominee Name - Bebright Pre School
Nominee Service - Bebright Pre School

Nomination Details
BeBright has been amazing with my autistic son. Since he’s been at BeBright I’ve seen a huge change in his development.

All of the staff work tirelessly to do everything that can for my son and his development. He loves it at BeBright and I can see why. All of the staff are brilliant with him and I honestly don’t know where we’d be without BeBright.

I don’t know how to put into words just how much BeBright means to us. It means the world to me that my son has somewhere he can go that is a safe-space for him, Somewhere he’s happy to be. I know he treasures every second he’s there at BeBright.

The staff even taught my son how to say “bye-bye” in the correct context. It absolutely blew my mind when I first heard him say it.

I wish I had the right words to say everything I feel about BeBright but I don’t.

They’ve supported us so much as a family, I felt so lost having an autistic child without knowing how to help him with his development. They took some of that strain and made life so much easier for us as a family. My son has been so much happier since he started at BeBright.

They’ll never know how much they’ve truly helped us. I think it’s amazing how they support my son and go above and beyond for him on a daily basis to give him the best pre-school experience possible.

They deserve all of the recognition in the world. Knowing how much they do not only for my child but for every single child that walks through their door every single day.
Nominated Date - 20-09-2024
Nominee Name - Laura Lambley
Nominee Service - Rauceby Cofe Primary School

Nomination Details
Laura Lambley is without a doubt one of the kindest and most compassionate teachers I have had the pleasure of meeting.

I met Laura when my son moved to Rauceby school at the start of Year 2, the same year she took on the SENCo role.
Laura was my sons class teachers and was so understanding of our situation that it made both me and my son feel immediately confident in her.

In the two years my son was at Rauceby school Laura has worked tirelessly to ensure that his (and our) needs have been met as far as possible. She very obviously cares deeply about all of the children she is an advocate for and has gone above and beyond to make us feel supported and included in our son’s education.

Laura has introduced initiatives in school that not only help children with SEND, but will support the emotional needs of all children in the school.

Our son has now moved on into specialist provision , however, his time at Rauceby with Laura’s support and hard work, has left us with a renewed sense of confidence in the education system.
Nominated Date - 08-11-2024
Nominee Name - Miss Barber
Nominee Service - Teaching Assistant

Nomination Details
I've noticed Miss Barber go above and beyond for my son at school. Miss Barber is a teaching assistant so has to share her time with all children, but While processing an EHCP for extra support in school, Miss Barber has took her time to get to know my son and pull him out of his shy self.

My son doesn't talk at school but Miss Barber noticed a way she could get him to trust her, for a way for her to be able to positively encourage him within school, and now his favourite thing to do is gently poke her and hide, this makes him laugh so much.

I see his face light up every time I mention her name. My son has struggled with learning but the support Miss Barber offers he's now learnt some phonics along with the actions, and during parents evening, I got to see how special their bond was, when he was able to show me, and Miss Barber saying if he got them right, he knows what will happen, it'll knock her off her feet. He did get them right and Miss Barber playfully fell to the floor, the proud look on my sons face, I will never forget.

For my son to be in year 1 now with a teaching assistant like Miss Barber fills me with such confidence because I can tell how much she cares about the children, and their learning, no matter their struggles.
Nominated Date - 05-12-2024
Nominee Name - Anna Manders-jones
Nominee Service - School

Nomination Details
Mrs Manders-Jones is the SENCO at my daughter’s primary school.
She has been really proactive in setting up support for parents of children with additional needs. She’s arranged meetings with LincsPCF, an anxiety specialist, and had a meeting with the parents to ask what we would like support with and is trying to find ways to help meet our requests.

She is also proactive in spotting additional needs in children, and has noted this with my own children (that I have noticed from the beginning).

I feel that for such a small school she has a huge task on her hands as there appears to be quite a significant number of children with additional needs in the school! She is doing a marvellous job at helping the other teachers with spotting the signs in children, which can be challenging as children can mask!

She has created a new welcome booklet with children with additional needs in mind making it more suitable for them to understand and has asked those who have children with additional needs for their input which I think should be commended.

Kirsty & Hannah my sons SENCo's are just fantastic and always go above and beyond.

Nominee Name - Steph
Nominee Service - Bebright Pre School

Nomination Details
I would like to nominate Steph from BeBright Pre School.
When my son was at pre school Steph went above and beyond for not only my child with additional needs but me as his mother and was always there for advice and support in every aspect of his life, not just at pre school. He would not be where he is today without her hard work and determination to get him an EHCP.

He has since left pre school and is now at school which Steph has continued to support us both with and our many struggles. He isn’t one of Stephs children at BeBright but yet she continues to make sure he gets the support he needs as well as still supporting me.

She is always at the end of an email or phone and never complains even though she has all those children at pre school and her own children to support.

Thank you will never be enough for what Steph has done and continues to do for me and my son.
